Cruises are the best $$ value for travel in 2022 into 2023

Many travelers are ready to go, but if they want to go to Europe land tours or Airbnb rentals aren't especially good values when you have to pack and unpack, but you can lug your luggage just once when you board the cruise ship.  One of the best ways to see the sights of Europe is also a great $$ value, 1 price for great food while the landscape moves by from the deck of your river cruise ship.  In Europe, the Europeans love cruises on the Mediterranean, it's European elegance with the food, and they are never satisfied with second best.  Right now the American Dollar is almost on par with the Euro, but it will probably be just about the same this summer, what a great time to get that low $$$ value, stay in one place, see the best of Europe without have to lug your luggage from hotel to hotel.
However, it seems that according to knowledgeable cruise writers cruises to the Bahamas or the Caribbean are the best $$ values.  All sorts of destinations are available and prices are good enough to go, although you may get COVID, it will be mild and that usually happens when you get home.  The fact that the buffet will no longer be self serve is a safety feature, and there are special apps that will give you freedom from taking your wallet with you, everything you need that costs money above and beyond the prepaid fare is charged to your credit card.
One caveat, the cruise ships are mostly registered in countries that will not grant you the same rights you have if the ship you take is registered in the USA.  Although in the Northeast, American ship lines are offering good $$ value and the security of an American ship operating within the laws of the United States, keep in mind that all of Carnival Cruise Lines ships are registered in Nassau or some other island nation.  Whatever happens on the ship, the Captain is the law, if you are causing problems, the Captain can keep you in your room.  If your luggage is lost your cruise contract states what they pay, if you read your cruise contract, you will know to expect not very much.  On the other hand, if you travel on a European registered ship, then you are entitled to the more generous repayment offered in Euros to everyone who sails on that ship, but the rules are the same, the Captain is the law.
Despite the frequent onsets of variants of COVID 19, traveling by ship will ensure that you don't have to cancel your trip if wherever your going has a sudden onset of variant cases, you can chose to stay on the ship and not sightsee.  In these times there are no certainties, but you'll know that your flights are pre-booked, although you do have to pay that extra charge which is not included in the cruise fare, nevertheless, your transportation to the ship is guaranteed to get you there in time.  If there is a problem you will get a refund for the days you've missed and another flight to where the ship can be boarded.
