Is there a significance to certain decades of travel history?

I was personally involved in the process of deregulation that took place decades ago, starting with the airlines, then the travel industry, and what has come to be every facet of our life.
Although I remember when telephones, electricity and tech related future events were objects to create new entities, now there is no chart to predict what will happen in 2023, or even 2024.  The so-called "real ID" has been postponed for another period of time, to be determined by the committee in charge of the current administration, who seem to court a policy of kicking the can down the road, that the absence of a so-called "red wave" shows, is a very successful policy to pursue.
I happen to believe that new politically positive events will bring to the fore what will happen next.
Perhaps if the "people" who vote get what they want, then we'll have whatever is determined is most acceptable, if the "best interests of the consumer" is paramount, we'll go back to those days I remember:  airlines offering vouchers for hotels/food + new items to wear if luggage is lost; vouchers for food + hotels for flights that fail to materialize & until another flight to the same place is available.  It could be that consumers can pick a charter to join that travels to where they want to go that includes hotels at a discount; it might even be possible for another era of happy traveling in planes that aren't stuffed so tightly that nobody can move.
Boy, wouldn't all of the above be a great forecast for 2023 and 2024, insofar as a predictor of significance?
