Are "Global climate rules" a tourism disaster?

 

In this 21^st century of claims of drastic climate changes due to the use of fossil fuels for extravagant lifestyles enjoyed by the common man and woman and the common LGBTQ, is the need for 1,2,3,4 star levels of hotels etc. and travel by plane excessive?  

I should also ask, does the Global tourism industry expect some thinning? 

And if only the upper classes travel will the tourism industry change?

Will only the upper classes have the income to travel both domestically and internationally? 

I can speak to my many years of experience in the tourism industry when I say "Global climate rules" ends the era of traveling comfortably for less $$$.

I can also predict the global tourism industry will adjust to much as it was in the early 20^th century, when the upper classes traveled internationally via magnificent ships outfitted with all the conveniences, the upper classes stayed at grand hotels, or they rented grand private accommodations wherever they went.

"Global climate change rules" will lower the standard of living for the average citizens of the global world, because Global governments have to offer "benefits" to their average citizens, some of whom will not be working due to the "thinning" of industries dependent on fossil fuels.       

"Global climate change rules" will accelerate corporate mergers and effectively increase the income of the very upper class expeditiously.  A "thinning" of the global travel industry is coming when the "Global climate rules" forces "carbon tax" for use of "fossil fuels," and for all who use "fossil fuels" an appropriate Globally determined "carbon tax" will be accessed,  and  nonetheless, in this 21^st century, those upper class can afford to pay the Global "carbon tax" to travel everywhere via private rental jets.  Or they can travel leisurely via the "carbon taxed" grand ships that charge accordingly for international trips.  Stay at "carbon taxed" 4 and 5 star hotels or "carbon taxed" mansion house rentals.  And eat at "carbon taxed" 4 & 5 star restaurants that charge accordingly.

If you live in the USA and read the blog, you will know that I am an advocate of traveling well for less $$$.

     In the USA, it seems that higher prices for hotels and air travel here in the states are accepted.  The accepted travel experts maintain that occupancy rates are rising in hotels and airlines are showing an increase in passenger levels.  Airports are crowded and long lines are evidenced by the videos played in the mainstream visual media legacy and cable channels.

     When it comes to international travel, I refer to the mainstream media, like The New York Times AND a recognized travel organization, FORBES, to tell me whether I am going to have to adhere to a mix of "many" "rules" and "regulations" with regard to my post-pandemic travel.

     I can give you my personal opinion, insofar as I have been in the travel business wearing many hats for over 3 decades, i. e.:

     CTC (Certified Travel Counselor by the prestigious Travel Institute)

     Hotel Industry executive marketing for various franchise hotel chains

     International airline district Supervisor

     Although I prefer to relate what I remember as a absolute necessity for any International travel during those 3 decades I was employed in the travel industry:

Every time I traveled internationally I was vaccinated with a variety of preventative shots, I had to carry my stamped by a health professional "yellow" card wherever I traveled.  Most often, if I needed a Visa, I had to send a copy of the original yellow card to that country for a specified period of stay.

 

All the readers of this blog know I have been warning about the possibility of much more $$$ for travel domestic or international, because the standard of living for the middle class worker is in the process of change. 

Here's how:

1.     For the ordinary worker toiling at a specific wage the onset of higher taxes and inflation will take its toll.

2.     For the middle class, or what some may still prefer to refer to as the bourgeoisie, working for state or country where you reside keeps you in the "middle class" and you will have the money to continue your travel oriented lifestyle IF you are on pension payouts.

Here are some predictions:

1.      Those long summer paid for vacation times for teachers who are members of the Teachers Union in the USA will continue plump up the travel industry because their wages for the most part are indexed to rates of inflation.

       2.  For the next 4 years prices are going up and up to travel anywhere, NO MORE "comfort for less $$.
